Introduction
Analog Intelligence Pvt Ltd ("we", "our", "us") operates Kaval, a personal safety assistant that helps you check scams, suspicious messages, links, images, and breach exposure, available through our web application at kaval.chat and on WhatsApp. This Privacy Policy explains what we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have.
By using Kaval through the web app or by sending a message to Kaval on WhatsApp, you consent to this Privacy Policy and our Terms of Service.
Information we collect
Content you send
When you send something to Kaval to check, we process the text, images, links, or files you share. This content is used to give you a response and to operate the safety checks described below.
Account information
You can sign in to the web app with a Google account or with your email address using a one-time link or code. If you use Google, we receive your name, email address, and profile picture. If you use email, we receive your email address. On WhatsApp, your phone number is used to communicate with you and deliver results, and you can link your WhatsApp to your web account.
Family
If you invite family members so they are protected too, we process the email address or phone number you provide in order to send and manage the invitation. Invitations expire if they are not accepted.
Usage and diagnostics
We collect product analytics (such as which features are used, verifications performed, and response times) and technical error diagnostics to keep Kaval reliable and to improve it. This is described further under "Services we use".
How we use your information
- To analyze and check the content you submit and return a verdict
- To send you results and, where relevant, follow-ups about your safety
- To operate, secure, and improve the Service
- To detect and prevent abuse
We do not sell your data, and we do not use the content of your conversations to build advertising profiles.
Data sharing
We do not share, forward, or disclose the content of your conversations with other users. Your requests and results are private to you. We share information with the service providers listed below only to the extent needed to run Kaval, and we may disclose information if required by law.
Services we use
Kaval relies on a small set of trusted providers to work. When you use Kaval, the relevant information may be processed by:
- Supabase for account sign-in and to store your account and conversation data.
- Amazon Web Services for hosting our application, in a data centre region located in India.
- Google Cloud for AI and safety analysis, including Gemini, Fact Check Tools, Cloud Vision, Web Risk, and Search, subject to Google's Privacy Policy.
- Anthropic and OpenAI for AI analysis of the content you submit.
- SightEngine for image and video analysis.
- WhatsApp Business Cloud API, operated by Meta Platforms, for delivering messages on WhatsApp, subject to WhatsApp's Privacy Policy.
- PostHog for product analytics and Sentry for error monitoring.
Content you submit for verification may be processed by these analysis providers to generate your result. We share the minimum needed for each provider to do its part.
Payments
Kaval is free during Early Access and we do not collect payment information today. If we introduce paid plans and you choose one, payments will be handled by our payment processor, Dodo Payments. Card details are handled by the processor; we do not store your full card number.
Sensitive information
Please do not send us secrets. You never need them for Kaval to help, and no genuine bank or company asks for them through a message. This includes:
- OTPs, passwords, or PINs
- Full payment card or credit card numbers, or CVV
- Bank account numbers or UPI PINs
- Government-issued ID numbers such as Aadhaar, PAN, or passport
If you accidentally share such information, contact us and we will delete it.
Data retention
We retain your most recent conversation messages to give context-aware answers. When a conversation grows past roughly 30 messages, the oldest messages are summarized into a short overview and the original message content is deleted. These summaries are kept to maintain continuity. A basic profile (communication preferences and general traits) is derived from your interactions and persists across sessions.
Web app
Your conversation history, including messages, results, and any attached media, is stored while your account is active. A copy is also cached locally in your browser for offline access and is cleared when you sign out. You can delete individual conversations at any time from within the app.
You can request complete deletion of all your data at any time by contacting us.
Where your data is stored
Your account and conversation data are stored with Supabase, and our application runs on Amazon Web Services in a region located in India. Some of the analysis providers listed above may process content on infrastructure outside India in order to return a result. We rely on those providers' own safeguards for such processing.
Data security
We use appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect your data against unauthorized access, alteration, or destruction. No system is perfectly secure, but we treat what you send us as private.
Your rights
You have the right to:
- Access the data we hold about you
- Request correction of inaccurate data
- Request deletion of your data
- Object to certain processing of your data
To exercise any of these, contact us using the details below.
