How to escalate a Flipkart complaint

Start from My Orders and the Help Centre. If that fails, write to the Grievance Officer named on Flipkart’s Grievance Redressal Mechanism page; they must acknowledge in 48 hours and resolve within a month.

the rule

Under the Consumer Protection (E-Commerce) Rules, 2020, every shopping site must name a Grievance Officer on its platform, acknowledge your complaint within 48 hours, and resolve it within one month.

the escalation path, in order

  1. Start with Flipkart itself

Open My Orders, choose the order and use Need help, or the Help Centre in the app. Note the request number for every chat.

  2. Write to the Grievance Officer

If support goes in circles, email the Grievance Officer the platform lists. Include the order ID and the earlier ticket numbers. They must acknowledge within 48 hours and resolve within a month.

  3. National Consumer Helpline

Call the National Consumer Helpline on 1915 (or 1800-11-4000), WhatsApp 8800001915, or file at consumerhelpline.gov.in. It is free, works in 17 languages, and forwards your complaint to companies that have joined its convergence programme, which then have about 30 days to reply.

  4. Consumer commission

File a consumer complaint online at e-jagriti.gov.in. The District Commission hears cases where you paid up to ₹50 lakh, and there is no filing fee for claims up to ₹5 lakh. You can argue it yourself; a lawyer is optional.

questions people ask

Who do I escalate a Flipkart complaint to?

Write to Flipkart’s Grievance Officer. Flipkart publishes its Grievance Officer’s name, email, phone and Bengaluru office address at flipkart.com/pages/grievance-redressal-mechanism, with working hours. After a month without a fix, go to the National Consumer Helpline (1915).

Should I call a Flipkart customer care number I found online?

No. Fake customer care numbers in search results and social media are a common scam. Open My Orders, choose the order and use Need help, or the Help Centre in the app. Note the request number for every chat.

What should the complaint say?

Keep it short and specific: what happened and when, every earlier reference number, and exactly what you want. Have these ready: Order ID and the registered email or phone; Ticket numbers from every chat or call; Photos or an unboxing video of the item; The exact amount and how you paid.

Can Kaval do this for me?

Yes, end to end, for members. Message Kaval on WhatsApp with what happened and the reference numbers you have. Kaval writes the complaint, sends it to the right desk, keeps track of the deadline and chases it, and takes it to the next level when the deadline passes. Membership details are at kaval.chat/pricing.
