How to escalate a Vi complaint
Register the problem on 198 or the Vi app and keep the docket number. If it stays unresolved past the deadline, appeal to Vi’s Appellate Authority for your circle; Vi lists each one on myvi.in.
the rule
TRAI’s Telecom Consumers Complaint Redressal Regulations give every operator the same ladder: a complaint centre, then an Appellate Authority for your state, and both have deadlines.
the escalation path, in order
Start with Vi itself
Raise it in the Vi app under Help and Support, or call 198 from your Vi number, and keep the docket number from the SMS.
Appeal to the Appellate Authority
If the deadline passes or you disagree with the fix, appeal to the operator’s Appellate Authority for your state, within 30 days. It is free, you can do it by email or post, and it should be decided within 39 days. Quote the docket number.
Go outside the operator
TRAI does not settle individual complaints. Next, file on CPGRAMS (pgportal.gov.in) to the Department of Telecommunications, or go to the National Consumer Helpline on 1915, and then the consumer commission at e-jagriti.gov.in.
where Vi lists its officers
Vi’s Appellate Authority page on myvi.in (Help and Support, Appellate Authority) lists a name, address, phone and email for every circle, and even reports how many appeals each circle received and settled.
- Unwanted value-added service charges are a common Vi complaint; ask for the charge to be reversed, not only the service stopped.
